8/2/2016 0 Comments North West Wedding CakesHaving established (sort of) yesterday, in which county The Frostery is located (both Yorkshire and Lancashire!), we definitely feel rooted in the North West. Most of our weddings take place at a Cheshire or Lancashire venue. We love the occasional trip through Yorkshire but most of the time we'll be heading down the M56 to Cheshire and beyond, travelling around Manchester or heading north, through Lancashire on the M66. Whilst our rural location means that it takes a little longer to deliver and set up cakes than if we were more centrally located, the scenery more than makes up for the extra miles. However there are particular challenges that come with being right on the outskirts of Lancashire. The perception can be that it's a long way to come, particularly when you're in the middle of planning a wedding but we're easily accessible by road and rail and a day in Saddleworth could be just the break you need. After your cake tasting and design consultation at The Frostery you could embark on a stunning waterside walk through a dramatic landscape at Dovestone reservoir, the northern gateway to the Peak District National Park. Or you could combine choosing your wedding cake with a visit to one of the other fantastic wedding suppliers that are located in Uppermill (see below).
We normally have consultations at our shop on Saturdays, when you can the opportunity to sample our cake and discuss your design ideas and wedding themes with Suzanne over a cup of tea or coffee or a glass of English sparkling wine. You can request an appointment here. Alternatively, on 28th February 2016 we will be heading up to the magnificent Eaves Hall, in the heart of the Ribble Valley, Lancashire, with a collection of our wedding cakes, where we are one of a selection of carefully picked wedding suppliers to be exhibiting at the Dream Wedding Fair. So as the wedding season starts to gather momentum, we're already looking forward to the wedding cakes we have booked in at some of our favourite venues; Heaton House Farm, Cheshire, Colshaw Hall, Cheshire, Peckforton Castle, Cheshire, Eaves Hall, Lancashire, and The Midland Hotel, Manchester, amongst many others.
