6/5/2017 0 Comments Extreme Cake MakersNot every bride and groom would be happy to have a Channel 4 film crew gatecrash their wedding but we were delighted when Aachal and Nickhil agreed to let the cameras follow the story of their wedding cake and we're especially grateful that they welcomed us into the magnificent Monastery in Manchester which provided the stunning setting for their wedding day last November. Making any wedding cake is a huge responsibility and to be filmed making it for national TV added to the pressure. It took a while to get used to the cameras and crew invading our workspace but the team from the production company, Boomerang, immediately put us at ease and were extremely patient with us! The exciting thing about this cake was the abundance and colours of the sugar flowers which helped give it a real impact and despite the cake's modest size, ensured it would have the impact that Aaachal and Nickhil wanted - even the church's vast nave. The Frostery has had the privilege of designing and making several cakes for weddings and events at The Monastery over the past few years and it really is a special place. Designed by Edward Pugin, Manchester's Monastery is considered to be his architectural masterpiece and is recognised internationally for its architectural and spiritual significance . As a wedding venue The Monastery is breathtakingly romantic, peaceful and truly inspiring. http://www.themonastery.co.uk/ A special thank you to Aachal and Nikhil for letting us into your beautiful wedding.
